Basic Guidelines for completing

Step 1: Please complete the relevant sections of the Address Space Request Form (some sections will be completed by New Skies):

 

I.              General Information

 

q      1.1 Overview of organisation template

·       This should include the name and location of your company along with details of its structure and markets covered, and the nature of the business.

 

1.2 Requester template

Ø     Please leave blank. This will be completed by NSS.

 

q      1.3 User template

·       Your contact details

·       For user country code, see http://www.iso.org/iso/en/prods-services/iso3166ma/02iso-3166-code-lists/list-en1.html

 

q      1.4 Current address space usage template

·       Briefly describe all address segments that are currently in use including address space assigned by other providers. Do not include information here for address space you are requesting nor about private address space.

Address ranges that will be returned (in RIPE 141 format), date and name of provider.

 

 

q      2.2 Addressing plan template

 

The relative position in the assigned address space at which the addresses for this subnet will start. The relative position of the first  subnet  is  always 0.0.0.0. For each subsequent subnet, the start position is selected to allow for the total  number of hosts in the Size fields of the subnets which precede it. In the description, please describe briefly in a few words what each address ranges are going to be used for. This should include details of internal infrastructure, customer connections and static or dynamic addressing space. A more detailed description can be given in section IV under Optional Information. The more information you provide, the less questions and the quicker an approval.

IV.    Optional information

Ø     The sections Requester Template, Network Template and Person Template will be completed by New Skies Satellites.

 

 

Step 2: Once you have completed the relevant sections, please click on the button “Syntax check this request”.

The RIPE robot will check the information that you provided and will show you the results in the ‘Problem Summary’. Please disregard the error messages for the sections that New Skies will complete. All other errors need to be corrected, and after correction another syntax check can be done. This should be repeated until all errors are solved.

 

 

Step 3: Below the ‘Problem Summary’ the Address Request Form is automatically generated into plain text format. Please paste this text into an email and send it to iprequest@newskies.com

Ø     A successful syntax check does not imply an approved justification.

Ø     Requests in excess of /24 may require additional time to allow for verification, and customers may be advised to contact their Regional Internet Registry directly.
